Absolutely Linda Rae's Best Book...

This is absolutely Linda Rae's best book thus far! I loved Lady Samantha's adventure on a Mediterranean island with a Marquess, Ethan Range. The fact that she is so accepting of being swept overboard, out to sea, using her dress skirts as a sail and landing them on a deserted island was an ingenious plot. Sam's knowledge of what plants to use as herbs, eatting berries, finding a mineral spring (yuck!), encouraging Ethan to try fishing, watching out for jellyfish (which are beautiful but their sting is horrible - while she knows a disgusting resolution to a sting, peeing on your ankle doesn't seem much fun at all), is simply amazing. Sam is a wonderful character who brings out the good in the disgruntled, scowling marquess, and before long she has him kissing her, and showing her what her friends have hinted at doing with their husbands.
Although Sam seems to be accepting of being considered "on the shelf," she begins to find herself wanting marriage, children, a home and a husband who loves her. Ethan's attentions while stranded on the island over a week's period, provides a blissfully, romantic setting, but all things must come to an end... and a pirate ship finds them.
Ethan finally tells Sam he loves her, only to desert her, leaving her behind on a pirate ship, and leaving her to wonder what is next for her. She is "ruined" but cannot find it in her to admit that the Marquess was anything but a complete gentleman.
However, the entire ton knows of her ocean/island adventure. Lady Samantha is now finding herself privy to the true identity of her pirate captain, the true identity of her real mother and real father, finds out she has a half-sister and will has another half-sibling on the way, receives an unexpected public proposal, but all of this doesn't resolve the issue of where is her Marquess. Finally, she discovers he returned to England the day before, but why is he not there to greet her, and why is a Baronet, whom she has never met, proposing to her in front of her public welcoming party upon her return?
This story leaves you wanting Sam and Ethan to find a happily ever after, but will they? Or did Ethan lose a woman who seemed to find herself while being stranded with him, whom discovered the joys of being with a man... with him, and is she now ready to move on and marry another? And what about her uncle, godfather, aunt/mother, sister, and best friends? What do they want for Lady Sam, and what lengths will they go to for her?
Truly an amazing story! I loved it! If you like historical romance, you will love this author's work. ~ M.

Great Story!

Great Story! Original, fast paced , and full of secrets and intrigue. This is the first time I read a book by this author and I'm so glad I did!. I'll be looking foward to more of her books.

One of Author's Best

I had to keep reading it straight through. Samantha and Ethan were swept off a ship they were sailing on. She was traveling with her aunt . Ethan had seen her when she was a baby and knew the woman was really her mother. They spend a week together on an island before being rescued. He misunderstands what he sees and leaves her to go on alone.You hope they will get back together will he get his act together in time? I have all her books but one what a great author.

She knew something was going on when he started acting weird with her, but she stayed with him, because she loved him, until she walked-in on Jax having sex with another woman in their house. She had giving up on relationship until she meets Slade Long, Micah's older brother and the bad boy from St. Louis. Sam took one look at Slade's baby blue eyes and she knew she was in trouble.

Slade Long is a young, gorgeous big shot defense attorney from St. Louis, he is very good at what he does. The only bad thing against him is that he is a major man whore, he has had so many one night stands that he has lost count. After returning home to pack a bad to go back to Tulsa to take care of her mom, Sam receives the horrible phone calls that tells her she has ran out of time.

Slade knows he must be there for his angel. But how can he do, every time he tries to do something for her he gets it wrong. Sam on the other hand is having so much guilt on her heart knowing that the last time she spoke to her mother they fought, then after believing her mom hater her for five years she finds out her mom always kept taps on her.

Can this heartbreaking situation make Slade and Sam's fairly new relationship make it? or Will this make them stronger and finally have the happy ending they both have been waiting for?

Oh My Lord, each book is better and steamier than the last one. Slade Long is my new book boyfriend.

But like we have learned with this two hot heated couple they will be facing many situations where their love and thrust will be put through test, But can Slade control his raw emotions under control or will he fail and finally pushes Sam out of his life for good?

Sam know she has giving up so much for Slade and she is afraid she is loosing her control and she feels she can't have that. Yet for Slade she would do anything. Can Sam let go of her insecurities? Can Sam be able to trust the man that she loves for the rest of her life?

As I read the final installment of Slade and Sam's love story, I was very happy to see the message the plot send. Love will conquer all, and trust will send you free.

Indescribable!!

I just finished reading this boxed set and it was the best! I had already purchased and read the first two books in this series but when I found the boxed set that included the third book, I had to get it. Reading this series was "indescribable" I felt every emotion that the author wanted you to feel. I laughed, cryed, and was hot and bothered from all the great sex all the rest of the time. The characters in this book felt like your best friends and you just couldn't help but want to see everything go well for them. The best series I have read in a long time. Definitely one I will read again, just to pretend I am back in their world. Just loved it!!

I hate cliffhangers - and this is one

This is an ok read. I hate cliffhangers - and this is one, so if you are like me and don't like them and want to read this, then wait until the next installment comes out - it will be less frustrating I am sure! This story is only 29 pages so in my opinion it is also a bit pricey for what you get and I really wouldn't call it book one - it seems more like a prequel to me. Due to its brevity there really isn't much character development and I have to assume that this will happen in the following installment. I would hope so because I am having a hard time coming to grips with the characters, such as they were in the shortness of the story. I also find it hard to believe that Aislin escapes from someone who appears to be a serial killer into the arms and literally bed of the savior who is also out in the woods in an obviously remote cabin. If I see book 2 I might take a chance. I would like to see how this develops....because as it stands now there is nothing remotely black ops militaryish about it at all except for the words in the title and Wes the saviour who is built and can obviously use a gun. Left wanting more...

Aislin ends up in a ton of trouble when's she agrees to a drink with the wrong man. This part of the book was realistic and terrifying. However,I found the rest of the book totally unbelievable and silly. It was a short read and left you asking what happens next. I do not know if I will continue with the series, as he author is hoping to get the reader to do.

I was not in love with this book.

Unfortunately the heroin is TSTL but somehow manages to do so in this snippet of a story.

She gets in a car with someone she doesn't know very well.
When he takes her into the woods to kill her, she manages to get away and runs to a cabin - where she meets another man who kills her would-be attacker. Instead of allowing him to take her home after all she's been through, she begs to spend the night and sleep in his one bed - of course they have sex and in the middle of it thinks "Are we falling in love? Is it possible?"

Brilliant Book.

I definitely recommend this book to people that love Fantasy, Romance, Action, Adventure.
This book kept me on the edge of my seat. Lola's writing is amazing, she transports us into the world of the Noru, Quo, Demons and Angels. But she likes to give us these major cliffhangers and major plot twist which drives me crazy but i LOVE IT.

She is definitely one of favorite authors of all time.

Congrats to Lola on another epic adventure. Cant wait for book 4 ;)

This book is thrilling, sweet, and terrifying. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. Lola StVil is one of my favorite authors of all time. (which says a lot since I read a lot of different books by a lot of different authors). I would definitely recommend this book to anyone that loves Romance/Fantasy Fiction.

My eyes flew over the pages and I couldn't bring myself to pull them away for a second. I ended up finishing the book within hours. This book contains things (which I won't say specifically because I don't to ruin the plot) that are exciting, passionate, scary. All the elements that she includes greatly contrast each other. The characters draw you in to the book and make it feel like you are actually with them. Not many authors can make a person feel that way. Also, Lola StVil's imagination is completely unmatched. Her ideas are all amazing and interesting; I never know what is going to happen next. The last thing that I want to say is that Lola is amazing at creating cliffhangers. I love these unexpected turns that leave me wanting the next book immediately.

I hope this review helped! It is a great read and Lola StVil is a wonderful author. I hope you will read this great book!!

Beware of cliff hanger! I'm loving the series. And if your new to the series check out the guardians series. It's the parents of the Noru and fills you in on a lot of the angel world. The series is complete so you don't have to worry about cliff hangers. But the Noru 3 is an amazing installment to the series I wasn't crazy that Pryor wasn't the main voice in this book but the end made it completely worth it for me. I love the twists and turns of the whole series I like being on the edge of my seat. Thank you Lola for these wonderful books, I can't wait for book 4!

I received a free copy from the author for an honest review, but if I hadn't...hell, I'd have bought it anyway. The description alone intrigued me no end.

I'd heard all sorts of rumours - from ménage to paranormal to detailed psychological research - and when there's a serial killer on the loose, I was almost afraid of what that might mean.

I'll give you no spoilers, so you'll have to read it yourself to find out how steamy the intimate scenes get and with whom, not to mention the chilling view from inside the mind of a serial killer as well as his victim. It's really hard to write this review without spoilers, though...because there are so many little mysteries that draw you deeper into the book as you read.

The detailed plot kept me guessing - if you want a book that spells out the whole story in the first chapter, this isn't it. The serial killer's identity was as much a mystery to me as it was to Finn - until it wasn't, of course. One of the many reasons that I couldn't seem to stop reading this one once I'd started. I just had to get to the end to find out who and what and whether Finn found love...

Five stars. Undoubtedly.

Three way Love

The first chapter describes the house Finn was to live in, and how the friendship between Finn, Bryan and Ash began. The story started to unfold immediately and had me in its grip including my fondness for Shep.
It’s a good feeling when things go bad and your closest friends gather around you to help and protect. When I started to read how Shelby, Ash and Caleb surrounded Finn to help her it made me realise how lucky I was also to have friends in my life like that.
Finn had to escape her new location when the Ripper found her and would rather die than let the Ripper take her again. The question was how was he able to find Finn when only her friends knew where she was?
It is hard to believe that someone you have known for years was a werewolf, with explanations come understanding and you learn to cope. As the relationship between Finn and Caleb builds up so does the tension if the Ripper will find her again.
As I continued to read the book I suddenly realised what type of being the Ripper was after Finn drank the ‘Pono Toniki’ and went through her kidnapping as if she was back in the cave. Ginny and Channing also realised what the Ripper was as Finn told her story.
The twist at the end was brilliant. The way D.S. Williams took us back to centuries past and brought it all back to current times explained it all.

A wonderful romance set in the 1880s

Simone Beaudelaire is a talented author who always seems to do her best work when writing connected stories. HIGH PLAINS HEARTBREAK, while a standalone story, is also the third book in Beaudelaire's "Love on the High Plains" series. Set in the 1880s, this tale is the story of Jesse and Addie, unlikely lovers in a rough world.

When Jesse left home after his fiancee died, he never expected to fall in love again. In fact, he feels that he no longer has a heart to share. Working as a Bounty Hunter, he finds himself burying yet another friend...The man who took him in when he left home, his best friend Clevis McCoy. After promising to chaperone McCoy's daughter Addie to her aunt, Jesse finds himself in the position of lusting after Addie while stubbornly refusing to fall in love with her.

Addie is a wild child, a woman raised by her Bounty Hunter father and her Kiowa mother. When she finds herself falling for Jesse, Addie realizes that she has a difficult path in front of her...Made even more difficult by decisions made in the heat of the moment.

As with all of this author's books, the characters are real and relatable, flawed enough to be interesting and with well-developed backgrounds. There is enough tension in the story that you won't want to put the book down, anxious to see what happens next. If you're looking for a fun and sexy romance that has a great plot and characters, I would highly recommend reading HIGH PLAINS HEARTBREAK.

You must read the first three books before reading Seducing Destiny to understand character dynamics and events.

Seducing Destiny is the much-anticipated volume four of the Fae Chronicles. Amelia’s talent for creating a world of magical creatures continues with Seducing Destiny. Ryder and Synthia are back, and they continue to fight, love, possess, irritate, and support each other.

At the end of the third book, Escaping Destiny, the world of the Fae and Horde was threatened with extinction. The land of the Fae was dying. The Fae young were not thriving and could not survive their transition to being full Fae. Ryder revealed himself as the Horde King and vowed to rule the Horde differently from his father. New enemies unveiled, a pregnancy announced, and the future of Fae was in limbo. Escaping Destiny’s story was well developed, each chapter contributed to the anticipation of the book's conclusion. When I closed the last page of Escaping Destiny, I could not wait to get my hands on Seducing Destiny.

I love this world that Amelia created. I an enamored by the love story of Ryder and Synthia. I appreciate that Synthia is a strong, independent woman who can stand on her own against the Horde King. I am hooked and fully absorbed in the palace intrigue swirling around them. In spite of the technical issues of the first three books, I continue to be a fan and eagerly anticipate each book. I am drawn in with the deception between races, the fight between the worlds, and how Synthia and Ryder’s relationship ties into the survival of their race.

So, let me be honest.

Sadly, my high expectations on Seducing Destiny were not met. I can only think that Amelia wanted to deliver a book to her fans that she may have rushed writing the book. That's how it felt - rushed. I didn't feel the TLC that Amelia normally would have put into the story. The action sequences were superficial and didn't have the edge-of-your-seat quality that peppered the first three books. Some action sequences were over before I could absorb what exactly had happened. The dynamic between Ryder and Synthia felt old and tired. I was waiting for the heart thumping, breath hitching danger that attracted me to the series, but sadly it didn’t come.

Technically, the editing for Seducing Destiny is much better than the first three books. However, it could still use another pass of the editor’s pen. Pacing was a disjointed, character development was a bit lacking and inconsistent, and the chemistry between Synthia and Ryder felt off.

Now hold your scythes and axes. I still love the Fae Chronicles and plan to continue following the series. Although Seducing Destiny did give us the birth of the babies and answered a few questions, it also successfully set up the situations that would be the springboard for the Elite Guard’s series. And I think that was the main focus of the book. Unfortunately, it sacrificed what was important to the fans - Synthia and Ryder.

I plan to follow the Elite Guard's stories. I want to find out what Zahruk is all about, and what the heck is going on with Ristan? I think Ristan’s story is going to be a juicy one. Oh and I also want to find out what Adam’s future will be. There are so many stories that from the Elite Guard themselves that I can only hope that Amelia doesn’t keep us waiting too long for book five of the Fae Chronicles. And I pray, that the magic and spark that is singularly Ryder's and Synthia's returns in the next installment of the Fae Chronicles.

I love this series, but....

The world building and chemistry between the main characters in books 1-3 compelled me to check frequently on the progress and then publishing date of book 4.

I would rather have waited for a beefier story. The progress in the storyline is solely novella worthy. The main characters chemistry is off, the world building is non existent in comparison to the the three earlier book's in the series. This is the end result of fans not allowing an author space to be human.

I am loyal enough to the characters and would have waited as long as Ms. Hutchins needed to do right by these characters. It brothers me to no end when fans press an author. Please allow the characters you have fallen in love with to speak to the author in their own time.

Honest review from an FC addict

Ok so let me start by saying that Amelia is absolutely one of my favorite authors and I've read nearly a hundred books this year alone so I know of way too many authors. She has character and world building like you've never seen and her plot twists are exactly that they twist and are completely unexpected in my opinion. Fae Chronicles is my love and the first 3 books (especially the first 2) I have reread multiple times but and there is a "but" this one did not hold my interest like the others did. The other 3 caused my level of attention to border on unhealthy because I was soooo consumed. With this one I just couldn't stay engaged... I think for me, too much of the book was devoted to the "politics" and war preparation. Obviously this book had a lot about Syn's baby beasties but I think it got a little too domestic which left me feeling unable to relate at times. With that being said if you are an FC addict like me this book is still a necessary read and its good without a doubt it's just that Amelia has spoiled me with her other books and made me somewhat finicky now!

P.S. Please don't get me wrong this book still definitely has the Ryder and Syn spice and is most certainly worth reading it just wasn't my favorite of the series but every series has one you don't love quite as much as the rest :)

Jack of Hearts

t this out of the blue and was very pleasantly surprised. I really did fall in love with Jack just like Alexis.

Jack was the type of hero you could love. Rich but not arrogant. Powerful without throwing it around. Alpha with a wonderful sweetness. He also was the type to show to show and prove. He made the story for me. Not saying I didn't like the heroine. She was good as well but I really fell for the hero.

The heroine Alexis was a hardworking woman with a lot of responsibility on her shoulders. She knew she wanted a forever after kind of love and doesn't think Jack can be that but he sets out to prove her wrong.

I think it was well done without too much unnecessary drama that can subtract from a story instead of add to it.

Alpha-Lite & Very Tame

Hmm...this book is hard to categorize. It's not hard or edgy. The alpha male character doesn't meet my definition of a "possessive male." It's like the whole novel is PG-13. I did like reading it but it was a lot less than I'd hoped for.

Good writing, believable (and highly likable) characters, and logical plotting. Lots of romance and tastefully described (very tame) love making.

What's missing is over-the-top passion and tightly woven sexual tension. The suspenseful part of the novel maybe perhaps the best executed part.

Overall Opinion: I was frustrated about a few things that others might not have issues with. First, the h kept on pushing the H away and trying to keep emotional distance from him. She was insecure because he was a good-looking rich man, but it became old. He never did anything to make it seem like she was not on equal ground, and he had to constantly give speeches about how wonderful, beautiful, sweet, etc. she was. She became one of those people that seemed to put herself down in order to hear everyone say "no! You are awesome!" in response. Second, I had issues with the unnecessary drama. And last, I always have issues with instalove. I need to experience the development of feelings for the characters in order to connect to the story. It felt like I was told about their connection in this one, and didn't really feel it. The H became obsessed after one meeting with her, and while I got agrivated with her "why me" questions I also understood it. He was a notorious playboy that never spent more than one night with a woman, but after one brief interaction he was a changed man. Again-- I have read books that this type of thing has worked, but I didn't feel it in this one. Overall, the book just wasn't for me.

Brief Summary of the Storyline: This is Alexis and Jack's story. They meet when Alexis is working as a waitress in the "high rollers section" of a casino. She doesn't know that Jack is the owner of the casino at the time that he offers her a ONS, and she declines his offer. He continues to pursue her (even though he is a known playboy that only does ONSs, and she is a virgin that wants more than that), and eventually she gives in and they start a relationship. Things move quickly and they become inseparable, and fall in love. There is some stalker drama, some sexy times, some mushy moments...but the couple get their HEA.

POV: This alternated between focusing on Alexis and Jack in 3rd person narrative.

Overall Pace of Story: Ok. The story felt over at about half-way mark, and then it had some drama added that just felt unnecessary to me.

Instalove: Yes. They moved extremely quickly to where it was a little off putting for me, because I like to experience more development in the feelings department -- especially because I felt like I didn't feel their connection but was told about their connection instead.

H rating: 3 stars. Jack. He was possessive and jealous, but I didn't think it was in a bad way (if that makes sense). Otherwise, he was just ok.

h rating: 2 stars. Alexis. She was my main issue with the story. She pushed the H away for majority of the story because of her own insecurities, and for me it became rather old and frustrating.

Sadness level: Low. No tissues needed.

Heat level: Moderate. There is a good bit of sex scenes that are hot at times and meh others.

Descriptive sex: Yes.

Safe sex: No condoms used, but they do have a std talk and the h is on birth control.

OW/OM drama: Yes

Closure: This had a good amount of closure with a jump ahead epilogue that gives us a glimpse into the couple's HEA ending.

How I got it: This was part of my kindle unlimited subscription..

I can't believe this book has been out since Jan.and only has 4 reviews...what is up people ??
This story was really good it had the Ducal family of Winchester the story is about Amos and Christa
the characters are really fascinating ...Zack is the oldest brother and is the current Duke .. he has 3 other Brothers and 2 sisters
The Young Crista has come to live with her Uncle and is following in the Jewelery business that her Father taught her from the times she was able to sit upon his knee.. Sadly her Father was recently Murdered and because her Father was somehow being disgraced she decided to finish his work .. which then set the "Bad People" on her tails.. Once she met Lord Amos things began to change, He was drawn to her .the person causing her all the aggravation was Reece he was always after her to finish the work she was being coerced into and was always threatening her Uncle if she didn't finish but When Amos came in the shop with an idea to have some work done for his Mother... she was thrilled to do Honest work..
Then things began to move in a faster pace and we find the disaster about to expand ..(smiling)
remember the saying "all good things come to those who wait " well Lord Amos truly waited for the right woman for Him..
Absolutely a wonderful book in this readers opinion it is right up there with some of the bestest Authors...

Delightful reading !

I only just discovered Ms. Soliman's books. The characters are rich, colourful and entertaining. A little spice, but not overly sexual. Just the way I like my recency romances. Thank you so much.

Very unconvincing.

The love between the hero and heroine is so lukewarm and very unconvincing . The story was interesting but the characters were disappointing.
