If you have time to kill

Glad they were free, they were very short. Wont buy more. When it said box set, thought I could be busy for awhile but u could finish these in a couple of hours. For being so dedicated for so long, Charlie has a lack of imagination and naivete that he is fumbling through the books. Not an alpha. Melinda acts like a 14 yrs old girl not a grown woman with powers. William & their parents would have better prepared them. With a whole isle to create from, the author is stingy with the support characters. The books are still for teenagers but she just threw in cheesy sex scenes with bad lines.

If you have some time to kill, this is a decent book

The mystery and the suspense draw you in, making you want to know more. But Melinda is so clueless and has few social skills. Yes, we get that she has panic/anxiety attacks. The way that she deals with general life problems, it makes her seem younger than 20-ish. Thankfully the book doesn't stay in her point of view, you get to explore other aspects of her family and those that live on the island. Only raises more questions than answers.

Dark and a bit creepy

Well-written, character-driven novel set in one of the small Apostle Islands of Lake Superior. The plot and theme has a Dark Shadows feel, with a cast of characters living off of grandma's money, a large mansion, lots of dramatic twists, and numerous creepy occurrences. The back and forth romance between the main characters drove me crazy, and the development of the romance at the end was somewhat contrived. The main character struck me as a bit of a ditz for constantly running off into the woods alone when she knew her life was in danger. The story certainly held me and kept me turning the pages, but overall it was much too dark for my taste.

Exotic Suspense!

Windigo Twilight is a gripping, exotic suspense-filled tale that takes place on a mysterious island across the horizon from Lake Superior. A weathered mansion, massive pine trees along the cliff's edge, the sound of the surf crashing below, and rumors of the evil Windigo spirits all lend to the mystique of this dark, cryptic isle.

Rebecca Baxter believes her parents' death due to an explosion on their boat is no accident, especially due to the fact that her estranged relatives would profit handsomely from their deaths. Changing her name to Becca Lynn she secures a position as a research assistant to writer, Max Duncan, on a practically deserted island in the middle of Lake Superior. Becca has not been to Windigo Manor since she was a small child, and is certain none of the remaining family members there will recognize her as she ferrets out information concerning her parents' death. Max Duncan is a handsome, brooding widower for whom Becca begins to feel a deep attraction in spite of herself. When eerie incidents begin to take place, Becca begins to wonder if she has been recognized. When someone frightens her in the woods dressed up as Windigo and her life becomes threatened, Becca unearths secrets she never wanted to find out. Someone wants her out of the way---permanently. And no one in Windigo Manor is to be trusted...including Max Duncan.

Colleen Coble wrote this riveting novel under her maiden name of Rhoads in 2005, and had it republished in 2015. Full of exotic descriptive imagery, the reader will feel as though they are on a tropical island in the Caribbean or Tahiti instead of the United States. Filled with heart racing excitement and melodramatic tension that will send shivers up your spine -- there is never a dull moment in this whodunit! Throw in some romance and a spiritual thread throughout and you have a typical Colleen Coble novel--breathtaking!

This was a touching story that made your heart ache for our Native American People. They endured wot of cruelty from people did not want to understand their way if life. The soldiers were very hateful to them and all this could have been avoided with men who had some compassion and common sense in the treatment of others no matter the color of their skin or their background. We live now in a time when blacks, Hispanics, Islamist people hate all whites. I enjoy reading books so I can get away for awhile from the terrible news of what is going on in our country today. I can almost feel a little something of the hatred our American Indian had to endure through the years. I hope there are more books in this series because it is such good reading.

Loved it and cried for Raven.

Five stars for a touching , heartfelt story of Linda's brave brave, Raven. Read this series in order from book 1 to 18... so far. Keep them coming Linda. I can't wait for more. I am doing my own research on the Lakotas, their customs, language and religion. I wish everyone would take a good look at their view of the earth, family,and values. Our first natives had much share and still could if we would listen. Thanks Linda for bringing it to us in an enjoyable read. Liz

Very Good Time Travel Romance

To me, this book had a nice combination of decent writing, entertaining characters, and a nice plot-line. I really liked the fact that in this time travel romance, the h, who sudden gets thrown back in time, does not just immediate accept her circumstances, but has to struggle to come to terms with what has happened. The H is a good alpha male lead, and the h was strong-willed, smart, and, I feel, acted "real" given her position. There is instant chemistry with the H, but not instant love, which is nice. There are even a few parts where they are down right mean with each other. The action/suspense parts kept the story moving well. I felt it kind of ended a little abruptly, and I wish there was an epilogue. I still really enjoyed it.

This is a time travel that sounded promising but was not. It begins in present day, 2014 & takes the main character, Kelsey Winter back to 1892 Mule Stop Wyoming. There was nothing that endeared the main characters to the reader. It drug on and on without the usual excitement & wonder you expect from a person of current times traveling back in time.
If I can read half of a book & can put it down & never pick it up again...I don't consider it a good book. This was such a book.

I Really Liked It

At first I was not sure I was going to like this book because I really didn't like the hero or heroine. However, as the well written plot unfolded and the characters developed and matured, I began to read faster and with more interest. By the end, I loved all the characters (except the bad guys) and was pleased with the ending.

To Many Errors

After reading book 1 I was so ready to read book 2 but I was somewhat disappointed. I would have liked more of a love story between Money and Montana than all the dealing with other characters. There were so many errors/typos that it was pathetic which is the reason I gave it 4 stars. I even thought about giving it less stars but because I like the story I didn't because I felt like the editor(s) and proof reader(s) should have caught them smh. I'm just wondering how much can be stretched to support book 3.

This was a good read but because of the frequent grammatical errors and character mix up I didn't give it 5 stars. Montana was doing the most with the way she was acting. I must say I loved when Bonnie crazy ass came out though. Ugh Victoria was one scandalous ass chick. Her sneaky ass deserved so many beat downs!!! Once learning about how her and her mom treated Chaz, I was hoping someone would just body her and get it over with. Money found himself in yet another situation but stepped up to take care of his responsibilities like he should've. Montel and Shannon are both crazy and I was hoping Mecca would handle them already. I didn't even feel bad for Suzie's jealous ass! Trisha stayed on one and down for whatever. The way she flipped on her parents though?! Lol! So many secrets were uncovered and the love between Money and Montana was constantly put to the test. Oh my Storm and Sabrina! How can you come back like you never missed a beat?! Smh!!! Can't wait for part 3 because ish has most definitely gotten real with that ending. What did Chaz request, is Mecca finally going to tie all her loose ends, will Money be able to get out of his situation, and is the city of New York ready for the consequences behind the war that is surely brewing?!

Oh, me! Book 3 has been hard to read, because of Damon's illness, and also because I've seen it firsthand in my family. However, The author has done a masterful job of illustrating that love can conquer so many hurts and concerns. And these guys (I'm thinking of them as real, a testament to the author) are awesome! It makes me wish I could be part of such a group in real life. Love is such a beautiful thing, especially when four guys are involved! Thanks, Sean, for reminding us.

Absolutely amazing.....Although Damon is half way through his chemo sessions he still pushes to meet at the cabin to draw straws.....Tork is the lucky bottom....There isn't as much sex in this one as a lot of their attention is to look after Damon....I loved this one though...They truly are all meant to be together...A perfect story and next we'll get Damon who hopefully will be fully recovered x

A most believeable love story

Instead of the typical beauty and the beast re-telling, this might be called: beast and the beast or maybe beauty and the beauty. It is not often that I believe characters can sustain their happily ever after but this is an exception to the rule.

This book is for readers like me who are usually annoyed and oftentimes bored with the standard paranormal romance storyline clichés. I thought I knew how this story would go: beautiful human forced to marry hideous beast, he treats her poorly because he was also forced into marriage. She doesn't want to find him attractive but somehow they have amazing sexual chemistry. In the last chapter they realize they love each other. The end.

Nope. If that is what you want, don't buy this book. If you are looking for a humorous and heartwarming tale of two individuals who learn to first like, then respect, then love, then desire each other, then this is what you are looking for. Draven puts equal efforts into world building and character building with the result that I found myself invested in both. I enjoyed this tale tremendously and know that it will be read again and again by me.

Radiance is the tale of two "spare" nobles that are forced to marry each other to seal an alliance between their kingdoms. Their physical appearances are very dissimilar and even disgust each other because of the pronounced differences. Their respective peoples pity them for having made such unfortunate matches. Oddly enough the characters themselves never indulge in bigotry or pity, either for themselves or their spouse, they accept each other and adapt. The new couple must deal with issues of cultural disparity, political machinations and the prospect of war with a kingdom unhappy with their alliance. Through it all these characters shine.

The Start of Something Exceptional.

Once again Grace Draven proves herself to be a master of fantasy romance with this tale of two people of different species and culture used as pawns and forced into a marriage for political gain of their respective empires.

The story of Ildiko and Brishen has everything an epic romance of this type requires. The slow building of trust and affection between two people who are aware of why they were wed to begin with but slowly begin to see each other with new eyes. The book has laugh out loud humor and tear jerking emotion, add that to the action sequences and it is near perfect. While it does have a small bit of Beauty & the Beast vibe it is totally unlike that story in pretty much everything other than the obvious situation.

There is the evil mother-in-law (is that being redundant?) and also another kingdom that would like to see the groom and his bride dead. It all adds up to a perfect combination of fantasy and romance I have not seen since her masterpiece Master of Crows

This is actually the opening novel for at least one more book (maybe more?) and manages to not leave you totally in a cliffhanger but does finish this romance and teases you with the start of what will be the next novel. I love a book that can make you wish for the next book without leaving you with a horrible cliffhanger.

A mature, true love story.

Well, what a fabulous book. Just shot to the top of my ever growing list of favorites. Grace Draven, you are spectacular.

I have been married 20 years to the great love of my life. I have been a hopeless romantic for longer than i can remember. The surprising secret that no one tells you (probably because you wouldn't believe it) is that no matter what physical changes happen over the years your spouse actually grows more attractive. If you respect them, if you like them as a best friend, if you share common values, if you are each others advocate and support you end up desiring them more.

When my husband tells me i am more beautiful now than 20 years ago i often push him away laughingly. I mean im 30 pounds heavier - how could that be true? And yet- he is still chasing me around as persistent as ever. He still tells me he aches for me when our time is limited. And when i reflect i feel the same toward him. I almost don't see him with physical eyes any more. He is so much more than that and yet his blue eyes and naughty smile still make my heart race, his body still draws my eyes and no man compares.

Grace Draven showed this kind of love - this true, mature, very romantic love with this story. What a gift!
