Repetitive behavior patterns getting cycled through every character is getting OLD.

I have now read the first 8 books in the series. Before this one, I was enjoying the quasi-different characters and potential of the series, and I was still able to overlook the horrid editing, the cliffhangers, and the excessive repetition of the same behaviors by different characters or couples (with the same non resolution). It isn't just that every event leads into a similar one, where no one learns from the lessons of the past, OR even that every character seems unable or unwilling to man the hell up and change the very behaviors they claim they do not like in themselves OR that every character that is saying they love someone is always looking or ready to leap on one excuse or another to betray them or run away). Any and all character development seems to last a maximum of one book before the character lapses back into old behaviors based on guilt, shame, fear, cowardice, etc. It is apparent that no character/couple will ever stay happy more than 5 pages or one book, because the author is going to pull the rug out from under them by repeating some issue that was semi, or maybe possibly going to be resolved, just before one more crap storm hits. I absolutely do not like the way Melinda is treated by family and strangers alike. I am also having a hard time deciding if the author hates men because all the male characters are emotionally unavailable and run like rabbits at the first sign of trouble or if the author hates women because all the females except Lizzie are being written like twits who whine a lot and seem to need a guy to get from one book to the next.

Compelling over-arching story and well developed characters but needs A LOT of editing

I have read the seven books in this series, and my opinion is that the author has a fairly good handle on the story they want to tell but they are in great need of an editor to make it a pleasant experience for the reader. Small things like grammar and punctuation can be overlooked if they are minimal but that is not the case here; those errors are rampant, in addition to missing words and possibly sentences.

Unfortunately, all of these issues make it difficult for the reader and, as a result, negatively impact the readability of the story. That is disappointing because the author does seem to have an over-arching story that is compelling and well developed characters.

I will sign up for the next stories in the series, but the author needs to put serious effort into editing, etc. in order for me to read more than one more.

I don't normally like love triangles but I really enjoyed this one because I was so torn between both guys (unlike most stories where I'm firmly on a team), and I think that's a testament to the author's writing ability. Both William and Riley are wonderful and I was so into this book because I felt for Melinda as she struggled both with her visions and with her love life. If you've read the other books in this series, I highly recommend this one-- it's honestly my second favorite out of the first 7 books.

So Much Fun!

Zachary is a lion shapeshifter and is in real need of a bit of a vacation after the last battle against the Caedo where he got shot and injured and still has the pain in his shoulder to prove it. He knows he only has 5 years to find his mate before he loses his Amoveo abilities forever and will live as a normal human being but he doesn't know how to go about finding his mate.

Annabelle sometimes had visions when she touched something of a person's, visions that totally horrified her at times. Annabelle has a secret, one that could hurt Zachary and neither one of them understand how her family and her secret could bring so much danger to him and his family.

I've loved the Amoveo books since reading the first one and this one just adds to that love. It's all about Zachary and Annabelle in this one. While a couple of the other Amoveo from previous books do make a short appearance we aren't besieged by other characters or many secondary characters that take us away from the main story and I really liked that.

Like most Amoveo, Zachary is pretty much an alpha through and through, he is a swoon worthy male and that's for sure. I mean the man can shift into a lion! How is that not awesome? I loved this novella and the entire series and cannot wait to see what else Sara Humphreys brings to us.

There is action, suspense, humor, romance and paranormal elements.

Sara 's paranormal shape shifters, the Amoveo legend offers clans of animals: Lions, Tigers, Panthers, Cheetahs, Eagles, Falcons, Bears, Wolves, Coyotes, and Fox.

Zachary McKenna is a member of the Lion clan, and occupies the role of a Guardian. As he is s till in recovery from their recent battle with the Caedo family, he needs some R&R. Having dreams he described as his reluctant mate has Zachary hoping the tales about Amoveo’s and their soul mates are untrue. Annabelle Johnson has a secret; which would harm her relationship with Zachary. Zachary knows Annabelle is his mate, but she refusing to accept his love.

This is definitely an enjoyable book.

Loved this set of books!

I received Drawn for free and couldn't put it down. I had to buy the follow ups. I was on the fence regarding which story I would like to read and follow, Aaron or Damien, so I read both.
Obsession was Aaron's story. It was a good read and answered some questions but felt hollow. It was a nice book and showed how Aaron took care of Etta and Evie and they became a real family. It still felt like Etta was always wishing for Damien though. Maybe because I rooted more for him, I don't know. The ending made me cry and that's when I realized how much I wanted Etta and Damien to be the ones that made it.
Redemption was the story of Damien and Etta and Aaron. It was very similar at first to the Obsession story until it made a few minor changes in how Damien's prison scenes started. Aaron loved Etta but finally realized that her love for Damien would never die. I loved the story of Etta and Damien. I cried for them and cheered them on. The mental illness of Damien was dealt with in a comprehensive way without being preachy about it.
I thought the concept of writing the story with two different endings was a great way to complete this book! I liked the fact that you got to choose which path Etta chose. It was a novel concept, a refreshing way to read a book in this day and age. The sex scenes were great in Drawn and even better in Redemption! I would highly recommend this series to someone looking for a great romance with enough erotica and real life thrown in to make it believable.

Amazing storyline and writing.

I never leave reviews for books, even though I am a very avid reader (several kindle books a week). However, I HAD to leave one for this. I could NOT put it down. I got immersed in the characters and found myself feeling their feelings. I love the fact that there are two options for the ending, and I read them both. It is obvious, though, that the better story is Damien because it offers the happiest outcome for all involved. I cried reading Aaron's ending, and I felt satisfied in a sense, so much that I almost did not read Damien's ending... almost. And I am SO very glad that I did. It was amazing. I will now continue to read Evie's story.

The author's writing sucks you in to the story so well that when I was doing something other than reading it, I kept thinking what was happening next and I felt as if I would miss something. Excellent story written by a great author.

This is the book of the year for me!! How could there ever be a comparison for Aaron or Damien. I was team Damien from the beginning. We all make mistakes but we have to know what kind of a life we want. I could not see her with Aaron, she was never his to begin with. Aaron seem like such a push over, not a dominant gene in his body. No one wants a man like that. Damien a strong personality and an all around lover. Her soul ached for Damien and no one could have quenched that thirst. I could feel everything she needed with him and with Aaron I felt nothing. Her life would have been boring and not enough spice. I am glad that you took the time to do a redemption book because Damien leaving this earth and not knowing his childwas not an option for me.

I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.

So I had to go back and read my review of Bring on the Heat prior to starting this book because even though I knew I enjoyed it, I couldn’t remember what it was about beyond the baseball aspect. After doing so, I was able to recall details about some of the characters in the book, which helped me as I delved into Too Hot to Handle and even though I didn’t really remember Jake, I was looking forward to another sweet romance. I must admit that while Jake can be quite sweet and caring, the romance between him and Nikki was HOT, not sweet and I’m not complaining one bit.

Nikki runs her own PR firm and is considered one of the best in the business for rebranding a person or organization’s image. When she agrees to help rebrand the New Jersey Sonics to get rid of their reputation as one of the league’s bullies and turn them into role models, Nikki has no idea of just how deep into her bag of tricks she’ll have to dig to make this job is a success. Not only is she up against the team’s resentful communications director, she also has to deal with a team full of men who often resort to adolescent pranks and prove more than once that they can throw a tantrum that rivals that of a two-year-old. While I understood Nikki’s frustration, I found myself snorting at the men’s antics more than once. However, her biggest obstacle is protecting her heart from Jake, the team’s playboy who accepts a bet to win her heart so that he can win the bigger locker and bragging rights. As expected, the playboy finds himself falling for the girl and soon forgets all about the bet as he gets to know Nikki. Of course any lover of romance books or movies knows that taking part in such a bet always comes back to bite our Hero on the arse and Jake is no exception.

I absolutely loved Jake and Nikki. I could feel their chemistry coming off the page and the sex scenes were freaking hot … almost too hot to handle (you know I had to go there). Much like Chase did in the first book, Jake also experienced some serious character development, especially in regards to his relationship with his mother and how it was affecting his ability to commit (

Unforgettable!

Set in 1885, Oreana, Idaho Territory. Daisy Gardner is a twenty-two year old spinster. Though she has nothing against marriage, Daisy does not want to end up wed to some rancher and stuck out in the sticks forever. Daisy wants to be a female detective, just like Honey Beaulieu, the lead character in her favorite dime novel series. Recently, Oreana has hired its first town marshal, Sidney Adler. But Adler's arrival has been delayed due to his being shot in the leg. Daisy plans to woo and wed the new marshal as soon as possible. (It is the only way she could continue with her detective work and be married at the same time.) So when a man named Bosco Kunkle rides into town asking for a doctor to help an unconscious man near town (who has a gunshot wound in his leg), everyone assumes the new marshal has arrived.

Cole Richards runs a ranch on Sinker Creek. Two miners, Porker and Gib Rankin, have sluiced his ranch's creek into a muddy dribble. Cole makes the mistake of telling Bosco that if the bank in Silver City loans the miners any money, the ranch would then be in a world of trouble. Bosco, who is not too bright at times but is the best-hearted man Cole has ever known, decides to rob the bank of the miners' would-be money. While trying to stop Bosco, Cole ends up getting his leg shot by the female teller, Iris, and the duo find themselves on the run.

After blacking out, Cole revives to find himself in the small town of Oreana and being sworn in as Marshal Sidney Adler. He cannot do much about the misconception except play along, or he and Bosco (who has been sworn in as a deputy) would be suspected of holding up the bank in Silver City. Cole plans to leave town as soon as his wound allows, but who should happen to be in Oreana than the Rankin brothers? Cole decides it is in his best interests to play marshal for a bit and find out what the miners are up to.

Daisy has just received a fingerprinting kit in the mail, the latest in crime solving advancements, when a stranger enters town claiming to be Adler. Subtle clues inform Daisy that the man is lying. This stranger is hardly gotten rid of before another one appears. However, this short stranger really is Sidney Adler. Upon learning that "Marshal Adler" has been keeping Oreana running pretty smoothly for a month, Sidney's decides to keep his real name hidden until he could figure out who is impersonating him and why. So he introduces himself as Sam Jones.

While all this is going on, Cole is doing his best to avoid Daisy. Her parents do not want Daisy to wed a lawman because they often die young, leaving their widows and children without income or protection. Unfortunately, Daisy is not making it easy for Cole to avoid her. In fact, she is as wily as a fox and determined to rope her marshal. As Cole is slowly losing his ability to dodge Daisy's lasso, Daisy's sister comes to Oreana to visit her family. The sister turns out to be Iris, the lady who had shot him in Silver City. Should Iris see them, Cole and Bosco may hang.

***** FIVE STARS! A hilarious, yet romantic, comedy of errors and assumptions that kept my emotions in constant turmoil. One minute I am nodding and agreeing with Daisy's logical deductions, the next I am worried she is sticking her nose into the business of someone who would cut if off her face. One minute I am worried the locals would see through Cole's charade and the next I am loudly laughing at his methods of solving the town's unusual problems. One minute my heart is melting as Cole and Daisy are falling in love, the next I am giggling at some sort of humorous interruption. I grinned. I frowned. I worried. I sighed from tension relief. I snickered at Bosco's romantic troubles with two widows. I often found myself laughing until I thought my side would split.

Author Jacquie Rogers penned a fabulous historical romance and then inserted her own brand of wackiness. As a result, this story quickly grabbed me by the throat, kept me reading long past my bed time, and earned a place of honor upon my Keeper Shelf. Unforgettable! I cannot recommend this title highly enough. *****

Much Ado About Mayhem!

Mayhem reigns in Jacquie Rogers' Much Ado About Marshals! When Cole Richards, shot for bank robbery, finds himself appointed marshal of a small town, I had to keep turning pages to see how much deeper this hole would get! I laughed out loud at the heroine Sarah Gardner, whose obsession with "Honey Bileau, Female Detective" carries her on a parallel track--and when the two collide, watch out! No spoilers here, but this book was a hoot from start to finish with twists galore. A fast, fun and frolicking western!

Jess es una francotiradora del FBI, pero siente que ese no es más su lugar. Quiere hacer un cambio en su vida, así que comienza a trabajar con su hermano en una compañía de ayuda humanitaria.

Hasta que aparece Colin en escena, Jess sentía que no conectaba con nadie y solo basto una noche y un encuentro después de una peligrosa misión para que Colin no dejara de pensar en Jess.
Meses después vuelven a encontrarse en una misión humanitaria y las chispas se hacen presentes.
Es una historia corta entretenida, mucha pasión, los encuentros sexuales están descritos con elegancia.
Los capítulos están narrados por ambos personajes.
Me hubiese gustado que la autora no repitiera tanto por qué Jess deja el FBI, se hace un poco cansón después que lo lees dos veces.
En fin, es una historia corta de la que no se puede dar muchos detalles, pero es una buena historia para cuando se quiere descansar de otras largas, cumple su cometido de entretener al lector, no con risas, porque escena divertida solo hay al final de la historia, pero si con una historia ligera, que no se hace pesada en ningún momento.
Son libros independientes, las otras historias son de los demás hermanos Stone.

I've been wanting and waiting for more Cash Davenport - and, all right, Nash, as well - and my prayers have been answered!

Granted, it is a serial and it's going to be a long wait until March. 'Cause, you know, cliffhanger.

Anyway, it's Cash Davenport. I'd read anything about him. Truly. I even prayed it would be available on Amazon and here it is!

So, all you Davenport bros lovers, read it!

Cash. Cash. Cash. Cash.
Psssst...Did I mention we get more Cash??!! We find Olivia & Cash happily married & trying to have a baby. Things aren't happening as easy as they'd hoped. The one thing she wants & that Cash can make happen is to bring their family & friends together for Christmas. The Davenport's hope everyone can put their differences aside for just one meal. But their celebration is cut short by a blast from Cash's past. This was a great set up for AWY? We definitely NEED that book to get the answers we NEED. Even though ADC is short it still has all the elements that made me fall for this series at the start. O&C are still HOT, C&N still crack me up with their banter & we get to check in with Ginger!!! I can't wait to see what M.Leighton has up her sleeve for these two.

- To be able to hold a baby that we made together, a little girl who looks like her momma or a little boy who will grow up to protect you when I'm gone, I'd love that.

Christmas with the Davenports

This is one of my very favorite book series. I read these books a long time ago, before I wrote reviews. I know...how can I not write reviews? It was years ago, now I can not read a book without writing a review. So to make things easier on me...I am going to write one review for this series and paste in each of the books in this fantastic series, that I have read at least three times. Yes I LOVE this series that much!!!

In The Bad Boys Series, we meet Cash and Nash Davenport...holy HOTTNESS!!! These alphas will blow your mind. I won't go into great detail because I do not want to give anything away. But please take my advice...these books are absolutely fantastic. One of my top three absolute favorite series.

I highly recommend The Bad Boys Series!!!

I didn't like it. I almost abandoned it fairly quickly

This is the first book by Helenkay Dimon that I've read. I thought it sounded interesting and the reviews seemed decent.

I didn't like it. I almost abandoned it fairly quickly, but i hate doing that. So, it took me almost a week to read it.

The first chapter seemed promising with Ford Decker and his team on a mission that goes wrong. I liked seeing how Ford interacted with his team and I was curious as to how they were set up to fail.
Chapter 2, we meet the heroine Shay Alexander. It is revealed that Ford and Shay have been involved for 3 weeks already. By not seeing how they met, I felt that I was missing something. I actually had to look up whether this was the first book in the series or not. By the end of the chapter, they are heading for the bedroom.

I feel like the romance between Ford and Shay is nonexistant. It seems like all they do is have sex. Oh..wait, they did try to have a date but cut it short when Shay wanted to go home and have sex. After the second sex scene, I skipped the rest. Because there didn't seem to be anything else to their romance, I didn't care whether they worked out their relationship at the end or not.

I didn't like Shay..I thought she was a boring character. She doesn't have friends or hobbies apparently. I forgot that she even had a job as an apartment manager that her rich uncle provided for her.
As for Ford Decker, I don't have strong feelings for him. I thought that he seemed capable in the field..that's all i can say about him.

The story itself had a lot of potential. A deadly toxin missing and the heroine's cousin the suspect? Sounds great! But the flat characters and awkward chapter transitions take away from the overall story.

I would not recommend this book. And I don't think I'll keep it on my shelves.

I closed Playing Dirty as a did not finish at approximately 30% and a little over 100 pages.

There are a few things I expect when I go into any romance novel. I want the love story, the romance. The first time Ford and Shay are on the pages together (opening chapter 2) they have been sleeping together for a few weeks. As a reader this was a huge disappointment. I have no idea how he charmed himself into her life. I just know he is there. This would not have bothered me in a novella length read. With the amount of pages of a full length novel I wanted the full details of the initial meet and greet.

The odd flow didn’t stop there. I was robbed of the heat and passion that led up to the first sex scene. Chapter 8 open mid scene with Shay riding her way to bliss. It would have been nice to read the romance that keeps Shay and Ford in bed together. I’m told plenty that they are over the moon attracted to each other. I didn’t get to read the events that created these feelings.

By the time I chose to give up on this book Shay and Ford had been given a few pages where they were together interacting and giving me some dialogue to follow into their quasi relationship. At this point I just couldn’t care enough about how they get to their happily ever after. Considering I didn’t know how they even met and decided a roll in the bed (repeatedly for weeks) was a good idea.

Why didn't I finished?
- no romance
- non-existent heroine
- hero that I didn't want to know any better
- too much exposition about the Ops and the secret Alliance group
- I was bored
