Need to know when to quit

There are so many things in this book that made me think:”Please tell me I did not just read this” that I finally gave up and DNF at 78%
Looking back, I should have stopped when:
• It was disclosed that “feminine release” strengthens internal muscles, which increases the chances of getting pregnant, so the more “releases” she gets, the better chances the “seed” have.
• Repetitions - the words “brave” and “bravery” was repeated 14 times in 3 pages of the text, 4 times in a 7-line paragraph alone.
• When I waddled through pages and pages of yawn-inducing conversations which led nowhere only to be repeated in slightly different manner between different participants.
• He started “grinding his rod against her femininity”
• Sex scenes that reminded me of the furniture- assembly instructions – substitute “rods” for divots and “femininity” for brackets and you’ve got it.
• It was revealed that bullets don’t work well on piercing dragon’s tough hide but arrows shut from a longbow will do the trick.
• A 3-day mission to rescue a hostage required a Royal tent (and that it is a Royal tent was itinerated at every opportunity). The above-mentioned tent featured electric lights from a portable generator, indoor plumbing, huge four-posture bed with thick mattress plus two other beds, tapestries for the walls, gilded fireplace (what, no grand piano? This is really roughing it up!)
• After deciding that she is not brave (here is that word again) enough therefore unworthy to birth royal babies, our heroine withdraws “physical intimacy” from dragon princes. So they decide to test her resolve by torturing her in a form of cooking dinner while tempting her with a bit of striptease. (They we right – there were the most torturous chapters I have read in a long time)
What finally made me stop? A vegetable. You see, in Kira’s own words:
“I never had a zucchini pointed at me before and I couldn’t help but realize that it was just about the same thickness and length as Blake and Steven’s rods when fully erect”
I rest my case.

Interesting plot but author needs to work on the story more so it wouldn't seem too shallow or dull. First thing I dislike was how the heroine sounded too focus on her own pleasure that I don't remember her reciprocating. Made the story not so steamy, not even a little. I read about 1-2 of 120-300 pages of sci-fi and paranormal erotic romance per day-- this was probably one of the few where I ended up skipping too many pages due to lack of substance. Ended up finishing it because no matter how much I get bored in the middle of any novels I read, I've always wanted/needed to know what happened in the end. Sadly, ending was very disappointing too.
Good job to the author for having an interesting imagination. Still a long way to go to be at the level of Laurann Dohner, CL Scholey, SE Smith, Kaitlyn O'connor, Eve Langlais, etc. when it comes to writing. I have no doubt that this author will get there eventually if she studied, reread, and revised her story line more than once before submitting her novel.

Cute story, but lacking in some areas

This story is in a series, however it is a stand alone read. The main female character is sold by her father as a fertile female able to have babies when the world has few of those left, but it was her choice to not run from the it and allow it to happen because it was either that or her father and 2 brothers would eventually die of starvation. The man that buys her is the father of 2 sons, that which ever son gets her pregnant first will marry her. Everything that happens in the story is her decision, she makes the choices and the 2 sons do her bidding. There is just normal sex, no anal sex and only 1 bondage scene that was also just average. The only thing that irritated me about the story was-- SPOILER alert-- the fact that she was with a massively rich and loving family, and after leaving her brothers telling them that she would write (not to her father though because he was a selfish man who didn't care about her) to them she never does, she also never talks about wanting to see them to make sure they are ok. Even though her father got enough money for selling her to live comfortably for forever there was no guarantee her father would make sure her brothers would also live comfortably. In addition, her whole town was close to dying of starvation why didn't she ask for help from the Dragon shifters to aid them. To me, she became greedy and self sacrificing, caring only about how anything affected her personally.
