Micah (Damage Control) (Volume 1), by Jo Raven

There’s me: Micah Owens. Tattoo artist at Damage Control. No parents or siblings. A past that still gives me nightmares. And then there’s her: Evangeline, the girl who saved my life and haunts my more pleasant dreams. Only she doesn’t know who I really am, and telling her might well send her fleeing for the hills. She deserves better than a loser like me. She’s pretty. She’s clever. She’s goddamn sexy and has a heart of gold. Which is why I can’t tell her. A smile from her and I’ll do all I can to make her mine – including pretending to be someone I’m not, someone worth having. Isn’t love weird? Standalone novel. No cliffhanger. *Warning: this book contains graphic language, sex, and violence. Mature readers only. Not intended for young readers.*

The Damage Control Boyz

Jo Raven has done it again and delivered another heart rendering read with Micah. My emotions were invested straight away as I connected to the lead characters Micah and Evangeline. The story had cross over characters Zane, Rafe, Tyler and Asher from the Inked brotherhood series making you feel all the alpha male goodness warming you as the story unfolded. Micah is a survivor working as a tattoo artist at Damage Control trying to get back on his feet with the strength of one girl who pleasures his dreams, and manages to calm his racing heart from the nightmares that haunt his sleep. I loved Micah's soft and gentle side as he admired Evangeline the girl of his dreams from afar, Evangeline being oblivious of his identity and her significance to his recovery, but always sharing glances with the sexy blonde from across the street and hoping to catch daily glimpses of admiring him. Micah is a story about finding self-worth, friendship, meeting your soul mate, refusing to be held back by pain and gaining control of one's life from the grips of adversity and parental control for both the hero and heroine, add to the mix one crazy ex, suspense and plenty of hot, sweet, romantic and sexy scenes with a loveable heroine, leaving you craving to learn more about these amazing soulful damaged alpha men who always have each other's back as Jo Raven uncovers their struggles one by one. I can't wait to read about Seth, Shane, Ocean and Jesse's story in this new Damaged Control series, as Jo Raven is guaranteed to deliver swoon worthy alpha men who have a knack to embed themselves into your heart, and bring out a fierce need in you to protect them and never let go.

Micah! Michah! Micah!
By Lena Loves Books
First book in the Damage Control series. This book is Micah and Ev's story. Ev was the good samaritan who helped Micah when he was sick and dying on the streets but a horrible accident prevented her from finding out what happened to him.

Seven months later fate has given them a second chance. Now working as a tattoo artist at Damage Control, Micah notices a girl frequenting the local donut shop across the street. He has a feeling she is his mysterious good samaritan named Ev but is hesitant to approach her. One, he is not really sure if it is her since this girl walks with a limp and two, if it is her, will she even remember him. Ev is a different person from who she was before, she questions who she is and if her efforts to help those living on the streets is really making a difference. Gaining back her confidence is a hard fight with a family that doesn't support or understand her and a crazy ex-boyfriend watching her every move. Despite all this, her mind still wanders to the man she helped all those months ago. Was he okay? Did he survive? Their official meet does take time but once they do, its one you will not likely forget. Yes, its seriously hot but also it's what they both do for each other. Ev becomes Micah's beacon of light in his dark life. His feelings for her are swoon worthy. And Micah helps her to find herself again. To take chances and live again. To be the person she once was. This was one of those stories that will have you fanning yourself one minute and smiling as these characters once again learn how to live.

Damage

I liked the story right away.
This is Micah and Ev's story. Micah is a sexy little blond guy who came from one foster home to another. When he is found about dead from a disease like pneumonia on the street, he's thankful. He keeps thinking the girl across the street from the tattoo shop looks like the girl who saved him, he finally gets the nerve to go after her. When he does, he finds her limping and trying to get away from him. But he can't get her out of his head.

Ev, has a heart of gold. She makes her rounds checking on the homeless people, giving them money, bringing them food, and any other supplies they may need. She sees this homeless guy almost dead from the cold, and desires to call an ambulance for him. While one day out running, Ev' is struck by a bike, and gives her a broken leg. Not only is she in pain, but she's worried about the guy she called an ambulance for, and all of the others that she tries to help.

Ev, keeps notices a guy that keeps staring at her, she thinks he looks familiar, but she can't put her finger on where she may know him from.

When Micah and Ev' finally meet up and start a relationship, her Ex boyfriend Blake, starts his threats about her leaving the low life homeless people alone, that it looks bad for both of them. When She tells Blake that it's not his business what she does anymore, he don't get the message. Blake tells Ev, that if she doesn't listen to what he says, that her homeless friends will start paying the price.

Shortly after that things go downhill, and the guys at Damage Control Tattoo, start getting jumped and one winds up in the hospital.

Read the book to find out how these events play out.
