I have loved all of the 7 previous books in A

I have loved all of the 7 previous books in A.C. Katt's Indiscreet series. Jake's Thief is the 8th book in the series and is superb as well. These books are stand alone novels, but I suggest they all be read sequentially to enhance the enjoyment of these wonderful stories. In this one, Jake, a senior partner in a large and very successful law firm in NY is also a dom at the Indiscreet BDSM club located in NJ. He is friends with 7 other doms who have succeeded in marrying their subs and lovers, and the 7 subs also are good friends and have formed a "sub club". Jake is approached by Davey as he leaving his apartment and Davey attempts very unsuccessfully to pick his pocket. Jake is going to have him arrested but when he hears Davey story and remembers that Davey is a renown para legal, he takes Davey under his wing, bringing him home with him, hoping that he would be willing to become his sub even though Davey knows absolutely nothing of the BDSM lifestyle. He also hires Davey to be his personal para legal assistant. It is very unusual to read a book that is BDSM oriented that is humorous, and enchantingly lovable, but these books are the exception.
What follows is an incredibly beautiful love story with only one minor bump in the road. It is exceptionally delightful reading from page one to the last page. Don't deny yourself the pleasure
of this magnificent story. Buy it, read it and experience the joys it provides.

Another great story!

I think this one might be my favorite of all in this series. Jake and Davey are an incredible couple. Very emotional and romantic, with some humor from the sub club! A beautiful story with a great happy ending!

I liked this premise but things went downhill very quickly...Jake is an overbearing tool and Davey is very irritating but these are the least of my problems with this book. Davey has lost his job for a contrived reason and can't find another one in his field without a reference, yet Jake's firm is aware of his work to the point that they are gloating over poaching him from his old firm. Did it not occur to Davey to maybe network a little? Jake, who has decided that Davey is going to be his boy for reasons that boil down to 'he was there and I could coerce him', decides to introduce him straight into the lifestyle without ever actually explaining to Davey what he's in for - Davey, who isn't convinced he wants to be part of the lifestyle in the first place. The interactions with the other characters are full of leaden dialogue, anvil-like exposition and information dumping and the sub club sounds like a group of rambunctious toddlers up to no good. These are supposedly high-achieving professional men, peeking over table tops to speak like cheeky children. At around 45% the MC's had barely touched yet were discussing with everyone around them (except each other) whether they were in love (days after meeting!)...then Jake 'puts Davey into the front seat and fastens his seatbelt' and the image of Davey as a young boy was cemented into my mind and I was done. DNF
