Josh Roberts knows something's wrong. His parents are making frequent trips to the hospital, he's excluded from their conversations, and worst of all, there's a leaflet in the kitchen all about cancer treatments. He's scared he's going to lose his dad.
The only thing holding Josh's world together is his relationship with his best friend, Bradley. But if Bradley finds out about Josh's true feelings for him, will that friendship be threatened, too?
Part Two - Not Letting Go (7k words)
When someone dies, how are you supposed to behave? Josh Roberts has no idea. Losing his dad has left him deeply confused. He loved his dad, so why isn't he crying? All Josh can think about is spending time with his boyfriend, Bradley. He can't wait to go to uni, when he and Bradley will finally get to be alone.
Bradley wants nothing more than to give love and support to his grieving boyfriend. But Josh's expectations of a life together next year are putting a lot of pressure on him. He's not going to get good enough grades for uni, especially if whenever they are in Josh's room they don't get round to any real studying. Why can't Josh understand that?

Loved it

Josh and Bradley have been friends since they were kids but Josh has been in love with Bradley for a while but he thinks that Bradley is straight: he sees Bradley chatting with girls and he thinks that his BFF is flirting with them.
One night, Josh goes to a party and drinks too much.. Josh thinks his dad has cancer and doesn’t know what to do…he doesn’t even want to ask about it to his mother. Plus, he wants Bradley and he feels heartbroken.
When Bradley and Josh kiss each other at the party, Bradley runs away and Josh is devastated. But, the next day, they talk and kiss: they love each other and nothing seems to go wrong.
Unfortunately, Joshua was right about his dad and when he dies, Josh doesn’t know to do and he can’t even cry for him. He’s not alone though and he can count on Bradley’s love and support.
But there is something that has been bothering Bradley for a while, now: he has to improve his school grades to go to College with Josh but even with Josh taking a year off from College, who says that everything is going to be like they dreamed about? Is their love going to be enough?
I loved the writing style and I could feel every emotion through the author’s words.
Can’t wait to read the sequel.

Very good read

i found this book the other day and i decided i would give it a read and once i started i couldn't put it down i read the whole thing right then and it was very good, all i wanted was more to read, i needed to know what happened next. I believe this author is going to be writing some very good books and i can't wait to read everyone. After reading this one i checked out the amazon page and noticed that there was a number two to this book and just needed to read that one too, so i bought it and am reading it now, so far it is just as good as the first one and i can't wait to finish it and see what happens next. I highly recommend this book it is one of the best books i read in a long time.

An author to watch!

I don't normally read works this short, but this was the top result on Amazon when I searched for YA LGBT, and it was free, so I figured why not give it a chance. Things moved a little fast, which was expected for a short story, but the emotion and connection between characters were well-captured. If Danni Keane's aim was to leave her readers wanting more with these characters, she accomplished her goal! I'm definitely excited to see where Josh & Bradley go from here and how Josh's life plays out after the death of his father and the emotional aftermath. Definitely an author I'm going to keep an eye on! :)
